Blue Corsica – Hotel Casa del Mar

In southern of Corsica island, between green palm trees and intense blue Ligurian Sea, Casa del Mar is raised above the bay Porto Vecchio as a modern temple in an old world. Building, with simple lines and confident, do not dominate the skyline, but fits discreetly into the landscape from which is taking part.

Casa del Mar is designed by French architect Jean Francois Bodin in a style to make the most of spectacular position: outside, wood and stone dominate the river landscape and water and trees occupy the foreground. Designed to the highest standards of comfort, but in a most discreet hotel offers 34 rooms, all facing the sea, and travelers get a guarantee that the first thing they see every morning is gloss blue of the Mediterranean.

The hotel features its own private beach, a golf course, plus a swimming pool with a constant temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a length of 25 meters. Activities are available for guests with water rides start at Casa del Mar’s own ship, Itami yacht, with a length of 14 meters and a capacity of ten people, and continue with riding lessons, diving or helicopter rides for those who want to see Corsica from above.

Interior design, made by Jean Mus, is complementary lines and outdoor materials: wood and stone with shades of ivory and caramel are dotted with spectacular decor items such as lounge chair inspired by Le Corbusier and contrast straight lines with organic shapes, curved, for dramatic effect. Features are standard for this class of hotel.

Casa del Mar restaurant, run by chef Davide Bisetto, has been awarded with a Michelin star for the high quality of cuisine, serving, and for surroundings, that offers a wide range of Mediterranean dishes, specialized menu plus a section on grill.
