Karlovy Vary – An awesome spa-city
Famous for its thermal springs, Moser Glass, for the tasty bitter biscuits produced here and Becher, Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic and abroad known as the Carlsbad) is located at 120 kilometers west of Prague, in a beautiful valley forest, and is crossed by rivers and Tepla Ohře.
Since 1350, fourteen hot springs here have become famous as a natural source of health, helping to cure diseases of the digestive tract, diabetes and obesity, as the treatment of problems arising in the spine, the musculoskeletal system and joints. Freud, Wagner, Tolstoy, Schiller, Beethoven, Goethe and Chopin in their time were guests of this resort. Today, annually, Karlovy Vary organizes a famous International Film Festival.

Hot spring water has a temperature of 73 degrees Celsius and is suitable for thermal baths and treatments of heart disease. Spring of Charles IV was named so because here they treat limb disorders where the Czech King himself (1316-1378) bore that name. Dark Castle spring has a temperature of 61.4 degrees C and is appreciated for many minerals that contain water.
The Upper Castle Spring is treating those who are suffering from physical ailments, water is recommended for drinking cures. Another “pipe” is the Source of the fair which, besides beneficial qualities of its water, is considered a representative monument of the city. Hot mineral water (63.7 degrees Celsius) in the spring of Prince Vaclav I is mostly used for baths and waters of Spring Mill, Spring Nymphs, Livezii Spring, Snake Spring, Spring Libuse, spring from the cliff, Liberty Spring and Stefanka Spring give excellent results if they are drunk.
