Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro Keyboard and Mouse

The Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro Keyboard and Mouse makes an incredible upgrade to your computing experience, whether it is home or work. The ease of installation was phenominal, as I was up and running in less than five minutes total. The immediate freedom that I felt with the wireless keyboard was amazing, as I was able to freely keep the keyboard on my lap and spin around in my office chair (if for some reason that's what you want to do, you can with no problems).

The best part of the keyboard may be the one button programmable buttons that give you instant access to your email client, internet browser, My Documents directory, Photos, Music, Media Player, etc. Of course these are automatically linked to the Microsoft software installed on your machine, which is fine with me as I already use Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, etc. I did have to change the button to open Outlook instead of Outlook Express, but that was an extremely simply process as well as you simply browse to the application that you want the button to open, click one button, and it's done.

The keyboard has a range of approximately 20 feet or so, so if you have your PC connected to a flat panel monitor that doubles as your television, you can easily use the keyboard and mouse from your couch without being confined to you PC with wires or cables. I also have a wireless network set up in my house which does not interfere at all with the keyboard / mouse (which I wish was the case with a new 2.4 GHz cordless phone I recently purchased, but that is a different story for a different day).

This is clearly the way to go, as I will never have a wired keyboard or mouse again. The ease of use, functionality, and general freedom of this Microsoft product make it worth the money and is an small investment that will definately make you wonder why it took you so long to make. For the price, the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro is the multimedia wireless keyboard of choice.
