With the first hot days came and the holiday season. The European cities offer attractions both cultural and for shopping. Europe has hundreds or even thousands of places to visit. But which city is the best for tourists fond of shopping? The main city in the preference of all is Milano. At least those are the results from a survey of the German Institute GEWIS. This preference should not surprise anyone, since here there are large stores of fashion designers as Armani, Fendi and Gucci. On the acquisition list of tourists are primarily the clothes.
Two of three tourists do not miss their chance to buy shirts, pants and other accessories. 16 percent of respondents tend to spend their money mostly on food and drink typical of the area they visit, while 20 percent buy handbags and wallets. 25 percent of respondents prefer to leave to go to Milan to recharge their wardrobe with the latest in fashion.
Second place in the ranking is occupied by the Catalan city Barcelona, considered by many a paradise for shopping. 21 percent of those surveyed confessed they love to spend their holiday in Barcelona. The main attraction, besides the church “Sagrada Familia”, the true symbol of Barcelona is La Rambla, a place exclusively for pedestrians. If you have the opportunity to come here, do not miss a visit to the Boqueria Market, where you can find an abundance of herbs, olive oil, seeds, fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, of season.
Paris, London, Amsterdam, Athens
The bronze medal is for Paris. 18 percent of respondents love to visit the French capital, when are in the mood for shopping or of a visit to the Louvre or Notre Dame. If the wallet does not allow you to visit the chic shops, everywhere present, give a run to “Clignancour”, known as the oldest fair in the world. 12 percent of respondents prefer London, where there is the largest antique store in the world. Fifth place in the shopping preferences fans of Amsterdam. The main shopping areas are Kalverstraat and Nieuwendijk, where cars do not have access. Four percent of respondents prefer to spend few days from their vacation to visit Vienna. For culture lovers the real attraction is Stephen, or Castle Princess Sissi, Schönbrunn, and for the shopping lovers the main attraction is the elegant shops on Kärntner or Kohlmarkt Strabe and Graben. Lisbon is also a beloved tourist destination. Besides the symbol of the city, Torre de Belém, tourists can go to fair “Feira da Ladra” from the Campo de Santa Clara.
