Tradition and modernity in Mexican capital

After about 20 hours of flights and stopovers, combined with 8 hours time difference, we arrived in Mexico. The city of contrasts and of the most beautiful women in the world, towering capital opened doors in my face, at which exhaustion that accompanied me on the road to melt instantly. Overwhelming!

Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, is the third largest city in the world (after Seoul and Tokyo) and, until recently, one of the most dangerous. Luckily, I had the opportunity to visit after the government imposed a few years ago, increasing security. But because of bad reputation acquired as a result of attacks, kidnappings and generally occurred in the street violence in the past, Mexico City is still a town… not so sightseeing.

The first thing striking to a stranger passing by is the opulence and glamour that wants to transmit, in contrast to the poverty they live, in fact, most of the Mexicans. For small salaries and tips that request in exasperated way, no wonder what these people providing services, on the street, in subways, parks.

However, despite their living conditions, something makes them live the life, always be polite, jovial. Most do not speak English, but with pleasure will help you to search the streets. And for your safety, remember that it’s not advisable to have large sums of money at you, someone asked for a taxi from the hotel a stop street. If you choose to travel by metro, are the first cars designed exclusively for women and children and do not venture to taste the “spicy” dishes in the street!

Tradition and modernity in Mexican capital

Mexican capital symbol is el Angel of Independencia, a golden statue, located on the elegant Paseo de la Reforma – the widest boulevard in town, a kind of Wall Street combined with Champs-Elysees. Here, on Sunday, traffic is restricted, making way for practitioners of bicycles and fitness groups, ad-hoc. From Paseo de la Reforma you can reach the historic center, Zócalo, the Constitution Square, a must for any tourist.
