Bangkok and its surroundings

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital since 1782, is a mixture of many styles, but traditional Thai culture still holds the largest share, both in architecture and culture. Combining traditional and modern style is noticeable in many places in Bangkok. Examples are boxes of meditation from the tops of banks and commercial centers.

Bangkok is a big wild city where you can find all values of Thailand. Shops and luxury hotels, crowded streets, fairs, garrulous locals, places of Buddhist worship that is based on history, stifling heat and traditional streets of love, all of which representing a true free face of Bangkok. Here lives more than 10% of Thai population, particularly because it is the most important metropolis of Thailand. People here find jobs, entertainment, and a new start. Bangkok is the pulsing heart of this land which is based on beauty and history.

 

If you decide to go to Bangkok, should not omit, visiting some historical places like Royal Palace, Wat Phra Kaeo and Wat Pho. These are the heart of historic monuments. The entire complex, which spans more than 1,900 meters, you will find lots of historical buildings and monumental Buddhist temples. The most famous Buddhist temples are where the most beautiful and most sacred symbol of the Thailand, Buddha of Emerald. It is a small green jade statue, which sits on a high pedestal. Another important part of Bangkok is Wat Pho, which is one of the biggest attractions that lying Buddha, Sanam Luang Temple and National Museum. Worth also mentioned fair Damnoen Sadduak, bustling Chinatown and Temple Nakhon Pathom, where can be found the largest pagoda in the world.

Suburbs

Samut Sakhon

Samut Sakhon province is the main fishing port and the leading producer of sea salt. Among the interesting places here are fair Mahachai, where you can buy fresh fish, traditional products manufactured and is near of Tha Chalom wonderful fishing village where you will be greeted by smiling and feast v. In this province, there are a large number of temples, like Wat Yai Chom Prasat, Wat Chong Lom and Wat Wata Sutthi Wararam, where you will find an oasis of peace, and not least the holy Phanthai Norasing considered being symbol of honor.

Nakhon Pathom

Nakhon Pathom province is in river Tha Chin surroundings. This ancient land with an interesting history behind, is also a center of cultural development. It is famous primarily because of higher construction Buddhist Phra Pathom Chedi worldwide. With a height of 114m, it dominates the entire city and attracts millions of pilgrims from around the world. Among other interesting places of this province are Sanam Chan Palace, which dates from the reign of King Rama VI, and the surrounding area “rose garden”, that will charm you with traditional Thai culture.
