Sevilla president Jose Castro dismisses Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s defense of the Negreira scandal.

Jose Castro was another voice in favor of La Liga president Javier Tebas as Sevilla president Joan Laporta did not believe in statements about the Enriquez Negreira scandal Barcelona. According to reports from ‘Cadena Cope’ on Thursday. 

Laporta held a lengthy press conference on Monday defending the Negreira scandal. Followed by an appearance at a La Liga meeting on Wednesday. Where the Barca president spent 20 minutes talking. ‘Laporta did what he had to do. Went to the league to explain the same thing he said in the press conference. And we all give our opinions. He responded to what we discussed. But he still hasn’t said anything new. And that’s for us who have done a lot for this league. We’re worry because this is a stain that’s there.’

‘We told him we all had varsity referees who were referees who got something small amount. And we do not understand why the 7 million euros were paid. His words didn’t convince us.’ Castro said.

Sevilla were among a number of clubs to express their anger and Castro explain. That no one was fooled by the idea that a report from Laporta’s advisers claimed a €7m payment of Barcelona.

‘You have to end this because there are people who benefit. The person who pays the referee who is in the federation. And people who influence the referees. No one here has been fooled. We have nothing to compare with Barcelona. But we will not be discredited for this. This is ugly and bad for the league. And every club in La Liga is worry about it.’
