Declan Rice is aiming to lead West Ham to the top of the group

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has revealed that he is aiming to lead the team to the top of the group.

The Hammers’ draw with Genk came out 2-2 in Europa League Group H on Thursday, giving the Hammers 10 points from four games.

“We created many chances, we should have scored again. Then We started the game with a five-man defense, we didn’t have Mic (Michail Antonio) spearheading but he spread to the left and we played false nine.

“We are still learning and we have to change our play differently in the duel. I want to end up at the top of the group. and enter the next round

“I have been with Said (Brenrahma) for a year now and I know what he can do. Then He’s a player you have to trust.

“You have to ask him because he is going to get the best player of this game. So You have to ask him yourself what he wants. But I was always by his side to honor him and make fun of him.

“Tonight he enjoyed himself. He scored two great goals and he helped us.”

The boss is far from done in management and is enjoying his time with West Ham. And the progress he is making with the team. He might not be aiming for Neil Warnock’s current record of 1,602 matches as a manager in English football but he has plenty more games left at his final ‘big job’ as he declared it.
